Hi Mark,

Just done another of my occasional google trawls to see if there are any plans to publish your stuff in Spanish and discovered that according to a Spanish music website ('labateria'), Scaredycat is Mel C's favourite book. What do you know, eh? I won't ruin the moment by telling you what her fave film is.
And what is it with denying the long-suffering peoples of Iberia the joys of Thorne? I mean I think I'm right in saying that your stuff is now published in French, German and Italian (at least), and with Spanish TV being so appallingly crap people here read like fiends. Ian Rankin and John Connolly seem to shift healthy quantities, so I don't see why you shouldn't. Plus you could probably arrange to have the royalties paid to you in Rioja and squid.

Mel C always seemed to be the spice with most taste!

Kieron, I am of course THRILLED to disccover that Sporty Spice is a fan and that my books are what she wants, what she really really wants...

The books HAVE been sold to Spain and Sleepyhead (or whatever it will end up being called) should appear sometime this year. Payment in squid sounds like a good idea...

Who's the other one?  I always fancied Ginger Spice myself.

I`d say Emma was in my mind when I posted it,but it was meant to not specify so no one was alienated and could pick their fave to be literate AND saucy.

I always thought that Ginger was the one true spice. I mean, I never put any Sporty in my biscotti, and heaven forbid I gave some curry flavoured with a bit of Baby. Although there was that one time..

I joke, of course

Ravenscross- check out Jonathon Swift's 'Modest Proposal' for more fun weekend recipes, and Mark- great news about the Spanish 'Sleepyhead' ('Dormilón'?). I'll pump it mercilessly to all my English students, and another thought, since THAT US forensic investigators series is really big over here, why don't you put on the cover 'The book that inspired CSI NY'? (in Spanish, though).

Years later and we all still have our favourite Spice! Mel C shares my top spot for favourite Spice, along with Ginger.  I like the way Mel looks now than the sporty look of years ago.  (And I think she's the only one that could really sing.)  Victoria Beckam is at the bottom of my list and the rest are in the middle.

That Northern Star album was really great - not a huge fan of her voice but thought she did a cracking job on that one.

Of all the Spice Girls, I only liked three of them, but being a middle-aged bloke (now!) and probably labelled as a 'Dirty Old Man' -Harold Steptoe style I have to honestly say that it's only in the last few years that Mel C (Sporty) has really grown on me.  Yes she can sing, Geri and Emma are the other two I've always been keen on, for obvious reasons!!
