I have always pictured Thorne as Tosh Lines of of the Bill. I don't know why., I think it is that scruffy, lived in look that seems to to be implied.

Didnt know who Daniel Ryan was, so googled him. Closest so far I think. David Morrisey is fine actor but not the Thorne in my head!

My choice would be Daniel Ryan. I'm fed up with not knowing who David Morrissey is, though, so I've just ordered the State of Play boxset.

Having seen "Scardeycat" I agree with you Scares, the next book will tell whether it is morrissey in my head when I read or if I still have Tosh Lines,.

Thanks Scarey! I have to confess I havent seen the series. I have just finished the last Thorne book on kindle and have bought them all. Fabulous - I love this genre both American and English and found these by accident! I have to say they are probably the best written and most realistic crime books that I have read (and I have read a fair few!) I feel as if I know Tom Thorne, he feels so real. My only complaint is that there arent any more. I still cant picture his face in my mind, if I try to visualise I just get a feeling of a person. I had the same thing with Michael Connelly's Bosch. They are great books Jaxindub, hopefully the next Thorne should be out in summer There are lots of great recommended reads around the forum tho, and feel free to suggest some titles to us too, it's nice to share |
