OK, so this is going to be a test of memory, as this is even way beyond late, but here goes.
I enjoyed this book, written, as it was, in a fictional part of (North?) Yorkshire not far from the part of West Yorkshire where I have lived for the past 22 years. As such, the scenery and locations, some fictional, rang true to home and I enjoy Inspector Banks' character, as it is easy to identify with.
The past, interwoven with the present, had an interesting, if, IMHO, slightly predictable denouement, but overall the book was immensely enjoyable, Peter being an author whose seies I would like to return to one day.
